Wood, soda and salt firing have been intoxicating to me. Sharing agency over the final surface is what makes this work so exciting for me as a maker!

Looking back now at my obsession with scientific drawings and classifications of the natural world, I see how ironically, I took such comfort in a system of order which is constantly in flux.

My fascination with botanical illustrations is apparent in this series of jars. The moments of overwhelm and calm quiet hold these objects in tension.

The reclamation of my cycle as that of a source of power than a source of shame has been deeply healing. I have through this work begun to think of my body as a vessel for creation that is not limited to biological creation.

Quilting has been an obsession of mine for years. I find the construction fascinating and I am grateful to have something to keep my hands busy when I’m idle. Quilting has such a rich matrilineal tradition.
