Atmospheric Firing

Wood, soda and salt firing have been intoxicating to me. I fell in love with the complex surfaces of the glazes and the beautiful way the slips recorded flames in the kiln. I began decorating using these slips (liquid clay) and underglazes. I love the way the intentional decoration interacts with the unpredictable element of the firing. Sharing agency over the final surface is what makes this work so exciting for me as a maker!
